FAQs

Do I need a GP referral for an Appointment?

You do not need a GP referral to make an appointment. You only require a GP referral if you are eligible for a care plan and wish to make a Medicare rebate claim. You can book an appointment by contacting our practice on 0412 025 593 or through our Contact page.

How do Virtual Appointments work?

You book your appointment here. Once I have received your booking, I’ll send you a secure, encrypted link with new client forms, privacy policy & consent form (please book your appointment more than 24 hours in advance). You’ll be sent a link for secure video appointments (if you don’t feel comfortable onscreen, you can simply turn your camera off). It’s simpler and easier than physically having to go (and wait) for an appointment, I promise :)

Can I claim a Rebate for my Appointment?

If you have a care plan from your doctor, you can claim a Medicare rebate. If you have private health, I recommend contacting your private health fund directly to check if you have dietetic services included. If you’re eligible for both, you must choose which one to claim your rebate.

Difference between a Dietitian & Nutritionist?

A dietitian is university qualified who can legally & safely provide medical nutrition therapy to improve your health. Some nutritionists have completed an undergraduate degree, however, the term ‘nutritionist’ is not regulated and anyone can refer to themselves as a nutritionist. Working with a dietitian is the only way to make sure you’re working with a health professional who has received extensive and ongoing training to support you.
